Press: FlexiSAF, Morphgen Host Successful "Educonnect 1.0" in Abuja

  • The partners seeks to create a strong community of stakeholders in education sector to move the sector forward.

Nigeria's edu-tech solution provider; FlexiSAF, in collaboration with Morphgen Consults recently launched the Educonnect community with an introductory meet-up and training workshop for educators in Abuja. This event was put together with collaboration with local and international partners.Educonnect is a vision to build a (tech-enabled) community of educators through which resources can be shared, accurate industry-related data sourced and through which ideas and solutions to propel the sector forward can be realized. The first-of-a-kind meet-up for educators in Nigeria held on 24th May 2019 in Africa Community School, Asokoro Abuja.

“Our passion is in the education sector. As software solution providers in this sector, we can’t help but notice the huge gaps in this sector and it’s up to people like us to come together and fix it. That’s why we’re here” said Abdulazeez, software engineer at FlexiSAF. He further explained “ People who use our solutions are schools; teachers, parents. So these are our biggest stakeholders”.

educonnect training session

Introductory training session at Educonnect 1.0, Abuja [/caption]The event featured a fully-funded Alison diploma training for attendees sponsored by Morphgen. Teachers were also introduced to online career development platforms and simple internet tools by one of FlexiSAF's tech experts. One of Educonnect's short-term targets is to reach at least up to 1,000 community members by the end of the year and FlexiSAF hopes to accomplish this through an online community, and occasional meet-ups in various states. FlexiSAF's representative further emphasized the need for a transparent community to enable growth in the edutech sector as well.The meet-up themed “Better Together’, was held in Abuja and had educators and admin staff from several top schools in the F.C.T and environs such as The Regent College, Royal College Masaka, StartRite School and more, many of which are among FlexiSAF’s 500+ school clientele.FlexiSAF is committed to improving the quality of education in the country by creating impactful solutions using technology. This event was organised in collaboration with Morphgen, leadership and educational consulting firm and is expected to be an annual occurrence.
